CANNIBAL FUCKING COPSE

UNHOLY SHIT

Cannibal Corpse have been a huge influence on my musical jounrney., and have played a huge part in my taste for full-tilt musicianship, power and energy. I can still remember the first album, the first song, the first time I read along with the lyrics, the first time a fucking song made me scared shitless and the sounds produced actually made me jump out of my skin. Music had never moved me like that... The only thing close was Slayer some years before... Cannibal Corpse's 'Eaten Back To Life' did that to me.

Now, 12 albums later, Cannibal Corpse CONTINUE to amaze with their unique sonic assault. I observed a slight lull in enthusiasim by founding guitarist Jack Owen for 'Gore Obsessed' and 'The Wretched Spawn'; his songs became kind of predictable and weak from the usually awesomeness I was used to from him... His departure I think has been a good thing, because PAT O'BRIEN HAS BEEN UNLEASHED on this album, along with returning guitarist Rob Barrett! When I heard that Barrett had returned it was a dream come true. My band mates and I would say, 'The ultimate CC guitar duo would be Pat O'brien and Rob Barrett." We would laugh and think it would be a fat chance it ever would happen...

"KILL" is the best metal I've heard.

Then in April 2005, I had the extreme honnor of seeing Barrett's first show back with CC at the Northwest Death Fest in Seattle. It was pretty magical for this metal head! It was the 3rd time I'd seen them, but the first with Barrett. I am teeming with anticipation for their show aug. 10th on the Sound Of The Underground tour in Vancouver...First Cannibal, Gwar and Behemoth, then B-LINE TO SHAMBALAH, and BC/DC on the main stage the next night... I love the rock n roll drama of that last sentence.... Talk about one extreme to the next to the next!

Anyway, buy this fucking album if you haven't already, get high and listen to it and give and bath in the glory of Cannibal Corpse. Ture masters of their domain.

    Thats right.
I really think Kill is one of the best Cannibal albums for years. Not that the old ones are bad but this one is one of the best Death Metal albums I have heard in years...

I like this new CC but to be honest their back catalogue has never impressed me much and IMO it's taken them way too long to produce something decent. I think they are really the most overrated band in DM. Back in the day I think Morbid Angel, Incantation, Suffocation, and others were all doing better stuff than CC. That said, they have been influential, usually for shitty cookie-cutter dm bands but occasionally great stuff like the new Gorod album has shown Cannibal Corpse influence.

I can see what you're saying to some degree... theres Something that was maybe a little more refined about Suffocation and Morbid Angel compared to CC on their earlier albums.

But CC are like no other band IMO... Just like no other Morbid or Suffocation.

I finally get to see CC for the first time this October. It has been about 11 years since they have been in Australia and was too young to see them last time. I think this show is definately going to huge because they have been in the main newspaper of Perth, because family associations and minority groups are trying to bann them from coming here, due to the lyrical content. Of course, they won't be successful, but the complaints gave them a mass amount of publicity and advertising for the upcoming show.
Should be fantastic to see, although I may not be in the mosh this time. (We have alot of non metal morons that try to be metal and make the pits into stupidity and unneccesarily violent, even causing serious fights.) But I suppose, it is Cannibal Corpse!

Holy shite balls, I know! Its amazing how much faster and how much more dynamics Fisher has. I can't get enough of his work on 'Fatal Millenium." Amazing.

i must admit tho, Barnes sounded great in "Torture Killer."

because torture killer is a cannible corpse rip off band!!!
HOWEVER....if you are going to rip off cannible corpse circa 1992, then you might as well do it the way torture killer does it-unapologetic, and with a taste of the gothenberg sound. double bass and open E string death metal done right....

I wouldn't say rip off.. The riffs and time signatures werent odd and weird enough to rip off. Modern-Gothenburg sound yes, but I'd say their closer to SFU, ergo the name, than CC...
